There are three remarkable people that I want you to know. Three people whom I am very proud to know and who are deeply involved in a cause that is near and dear to my heart, one I serve as a board member and have supported for many years. CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, provides a loving and well-trained volunteer to help young people who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.
Enter Lee and Yvonne Ball and Daquan Jackson.
Daquan was not living in the best environment for him to reach his full potential at home and was removed and put into “the system”. That’s when Yvonne and Lee came into his life, two truly kind and decent people who decided they wanted to help a young person who needed it — and Daquan surely needed it. Yvonne and Lee gave Daquan exactly what he needed to thrive. They provided love, trust, and structure.
Their story is exactly why CASA is one of the most impactful and powerful charitable organizations that I have ever seen or been associated with. Please take a few moments to watch the interview I did with them, a portion of which is airing during the Oscars.
Lee, Yvonne, and Daquan are truly ABC7 Stars Where You Live!!
